Summer Afternoon Tea Dances at Cork Midsummer Festival

THURSDAY 16 JUNE (12.30 to 2pm) with PJ COOGAN of 96FM & C103

If you can remember back to Irelands wonderful Showbands, or even further to the era of the Big Band, then you'll thoroughly enjoy this lunchtime tea dance. PJ Coogan will act as compére, playing a selection of Big Band, Showband and Country & Western favourites from the great days of the Irish dancehall era. From Glen Miller to Johnny Carroll, from The Dixies to Joe Dolan, and from Dermot O'Brien to Susan McCann, PJ promises to keep everyone on their feet for a great lunchtime dance.

THURSDAY 23 JUNE (12.30 to 2pm) with EVELYN GRANT of RTE lyric fm

Anyone for a waltz? Join Evelyn Grant and her Trio for an elegant Tea-Dance. a little old-time gentility and some up-beat fun! Well-known musical director of the Cork Pops Orchestra, Evelyn has put together a programme to get the toes tapping - dancers will enjoy a range of music from Johann Strauss to Abba and demonstrate their dancing skills in waltzes, tangoes, two-steps and a bit of rock 'n' roll. Music and dancing for everyone and for all ages. So, get your out dancing shoes and take you partner!
