Active Retirement CEO appointed to Healthy Ireland Council
Maureen Kavanagh, CEO of Active Retirement Ireland, has been appointed by Minister James Reilly to the new Healthy Ireland Council.
The Council will support the implementation of Healthy Ireland, Ireland's framework for improving the health and wellbeing of our people. It brings together key stakeholders and leaders from different sectors of Irish society.
Ms. Kavanagh, a former National Project Co-ordinator with AONTAS, the National Adult Learning Organisation, said she was "honoured to represent older people's interests" on the Council.
The volunteer body will soon begin work on implementing the Healthy Ireland framework, once terms of reference have been agreed.
