A festival of fun and entertainment for all the family will take place at Waterford's R. S. C. on Sunday, September 25th starting at 11 a.m. The event, organised by the Friends of Assisi House is the inaugural Stage of Life Festival bringing together young and old in a fun filled atmosphere where the entire community will be invited to join hands in support of our elderly citizens.
A great day out is guaranteed with a wide range of attractions for every age group including live music, face painting, archery, food stalls, vintage cars, tractors, bouncy castles and much more. Admission is just €5 per person with free admission for all children under 12.
Assisi House is a registered charity administered by a board of volunteers. It is a place to rekindle old friendships and meet new friends in a vibrant social club. Every cent donated helps provide quality of life services including nutritional meals, chiropody, reflexology, a hair salon, music, dance and a number of seasonal events in a welcoming, social environment. Located on the Respond! Complex, Dominic Place, Assisi House relies on the goodwill and generosity of the general public, business community and the staff and management of companies throughout the city. Their continued support and generosity is very much appreciated and never taken for granted.
Waterford has a higher than the national average of elderly people living alone. Over four thousand people live alone, a number almost doubled when those living with one or more family members are included. Assisi House provides respite time for carers often delaying the need for residential care. The charity promotes independent living, wellbeing, dignity and self-esteem. We sincerely appeal to one and all to come and support this worthy cause by participating in a Festival of Fun and join in uniting all ages in a Stage of Family Life spectacular at the R.S.C.
