Statement from Bus Eireann following Active Retirement Ireland Protests
In the wake of sustained campaigning by Bunclody Active Retirement and others, the National Transport Authority initiated a review of Expressway services in Co. Wexford and elsewhere. Bus Éireann released the following statement:
"Bus Éireann welcomes the publication of the National Transport Authority’s (NTA) comprehensive review of the withdrawal of Expressway Route 5. The authority have mapped out the next steps for the maintenance of public transport links in the affected areas, and we look forward to working with them on this. The extension of Bus Éireann’s PSO Route 132 forms part of this solution, along with the extension of Expressway Route 4. Bus Éireann has, as a result, agreed to suspend the cancellation of Route 5 until 26 April 2015."
Active Retirement Ireland congratulates Bunclody Active Retirement Association on their tremendous work on behalf of their community.
