Winners - 2016 National Bowls Competition

Congratulations to the winners and runners up in our National Bowls Competition, proudly sponsored by Bluebird Care.

The winners of the small bowls plate were St Paul's Men's Group from Waterford City, as they beat Tullow AR from Co. Carlow. Skip Paddy O'Mahoney's team won the Small Bowls Cup in 2015.


In the Large Bowls Plate competition, the final saw two teams from Mountbellew, Co. Galway face off. The winning team, the Ambers, were led by skip Mattie Donnellan.


The Small Bowls Cup was won by Denis Murphy's Bennekerry & District Team from County Carlow, who beat local rivals and friends Myshall ARA in the final.


The Large Bowls Final was an epic affair between last year's winner's the Active Virginians and the 2014 champions Beaufort ARA. After an extra end, it was Donie Clifford's Beaufort team who finished victorious.
